Spencer Hux is pretty confused by the way these days golf advertising is happening. The money spent on it is on all time high and even “low-handicap player at $36 per dozen” is a big game. He funnily calls the ad “looks like one of those 1970’s barber shop polls.” Another hybrid ad on Golf Digest makes him think why the hell he didn’t join the advertising industry. (I don’t know why he remarked like that, may be wanted to point out this mindless non-attractive advertising is anybody’s cup of tea, and so his too, very modest, huh).
So, the bottom line is as a consumer he is not at all persuaded by these ad campaigns and neither he intends to buy any stuff. Well, I suppose, it happens in every industry. When an index goes higher, you suddenly find lots of people want to make quick money till the sun shines.
