Ryanair, the Ireland-based low cost airline is slapped by Government of Sweden as it used Swedish Prime Minister Minister Goran Persson and former Foreign Minister Laila Freivalds’ faces in one of their newspaper advertisements along with the caption – ‘Time to flee the country?’. Both the ministers are asking for approximately $10,000 each for the damage charges. The ad was published in Sweden’s major newspapers on February 27.

The ruling party, Social Democratic Party is in any way under a lot of pressure these days over the international hullabaloo on prophet cartoon issue.

Ryanair’s spokesperson comes up with an interesting reply. It’s not any usual dry press release stuff.

Said;

Our marketing often alludes to current events, and these are very public figures. This is a government that plans to introduce more taxes to prevent competition (in the airline industry). This (lawsuit) is just one more way to waste tax payers’ time and money.
