Individual values and experiences, especially those of seniors, help shape a company\u2019s work culture. Leaders have the power to set the values and quality of the workplace environment for their employees. As such, they would choose employees who would fit in with these values as well as the established culture.<\/p>\n

Every organization would need to identify as well as develop values that have clear, precise and shared meaning and direction. This would help employees understand them better and contribute accordingly.<\/p>\n

Nurturing values and supporting them is also necessary, as without these, the set values would not have any meaning and would only de-motivate employees. The set values and value statements should have an impact in the organization. This can be achieved via the following strategies.<\/p>\n

Regular performance feedback should be initiated in order to ensure that the adopted values and behavior are in line with what the organization set. Employees who follow an outlook that is congruent with the values set by the organization need to be promoted to the next levels.<\/p>\n

The accomplishment of a unified and effective value based, shared culture throughout the organization can be achieved only with the active cooperation of all of its members and the development of processes and systems that follow these values as well.<\/p>\n

Given below are some common examples of values an organization can follow. These include ambition, honest, competence, discipline, equality, responsibility, integrity, individuality, diversity, respect, dedication, accuracy, innovativeness, accountability, team work, dignity, influence, optimism, friendliness, flexibility, dependability, accuracy, security, improvement, excellence, etc.<\/p>\n

Values and value statements are extremely important for an organization. These values and value statements should be in lieu with all the members in the organization, and should be followed diligently. Systems and processes to follow these values should also be developed.
