But, nature does not seem to be in favor of the region&#8217;s beauty-features. The devastating plant disease &#8216;Sudden Oak Death&#8217; has been plundering the coastal oak and tanoak trees for years, which has only increased in recent days.<\/p>\n<p><strong>But, it is the lack of awareness programs and guidance on how to save the trees, have only led to the disease&#8217;s spread<\/strong>. Due to these concerns, information on how to go about for the Californians will be dominating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biologynews.net\/archives\/2007\/07\/13\/californians_urged_to_help_reduce_spread_of_sudden_oak_death.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a news conference<\/a> to be held there, with discussions centering on plant diseases vital for the country&#8217;s agriculture and hence economy.<\/p>\n<p>Sudden Oak Death Research Program Manager, USDA-Forest Service, Pacific Southwest Research Station, Susan Frankel said,<\/p><div class=\"4af0d39e3ff1bdbae5976e2330eb4205\" data-index=\"2\" style=\"float: none; margin:10px 0 10px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\r\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-9477973674766713\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"8885944693\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n\n<blockquote><p>There is still a lot of land out there for us to protect and an early detection, eradication, and containment program will help us accomplish this.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Since, the pathogen&#8217;s &#8212; Phytophthora ramorum &#8211; infestation has already devastated many mature trees of high economic-value, the conference will stress on helping protect areas that are not yet exposed to the pathogen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>But how?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It all lies in the hand of the local landscapers and homeowners. Yes, <strong>they need to be careful while purchasing the plants. They need to be sure that the plants look healthy.
