Kids all around the world are encouraging smokers through their artwork/slogans to quit and protect everyone from smoke. They help to educate the public about the tobacco problems. Tobacco kills more than 8 million people a year. As you know, In times of pandemic people are fighting for catching deep breaths to survive and quitting smoking will help people to breathe fresh air.
Did you know the first kNOw Tobacco Campaign was launched by me and my team in Dubai in association with the Ministry of Health and Dubai Healthcare City, then later several campaigns were launched to educate harmful effects of Tobacco and made it one of the longest-running campaigns. The hashtag #kNOwTobccoDay simple means if you KNOW harmful effects, you will say NO.
Together, today on 31st May, on World Tobacco Day let us be a part of this campaign #kNOTobaccoDay and Let’s shower some love for these little miracles and the amazing and spectacular message they are sharing.

Tobacco is the leading most preventable cause of premature death and diseases and is accountable for up to 5,000,000 deaths each year. Yet it is a growing threat, with more people falling prey to its deadly lure.
The campaign first started in year 2009 in association with Ministry of Health (MOH) in collaboration with Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) launched a major campaign to stop smoking in the lead up of “World No Tobacco Day” on May 31st 2009. The campaign was sponsored by Green Crescent Insurance Company and conceived & executed by Dr Prem Jagyasi .
The No Tobacco Campaign team rolled out the first phase of the nationwide campaign from 21st May to 30th May to gain support for this initiative. The team visited shopping malls, offices, college clusters and labor camps to talk about the dangers of tobacco consumption. The campaign reached out to all communities within the UAE through a wide-ranging program which included talks, road shows, street plays, poster & art competitions programs and participation in the ‘Quit & Win’ competition.

The first phase of the campaign, 15th May to 31st May, will visit popular malls across AbuDhabi, Sharjah and Dubai in close interaction with mall visitors through campaign stands which will offer nicotine tests, free consultation with doctors, awareness skits and conduct a membership drive for people to sign up to quit smoking.
The second phase of the campaign ‘You Can Do It’ will run from 1st June to 11th August visiting corporate’s and universities conducting awareness seminars about smoking, offering free nicotine tests and registering more people who want to quit smoking.
