Jack and his wife Julia had bought a house far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. They wanted to live a peaceful lie away from the noise of the city. Every day they would drive to their workplaces and come back to their nests in the evening. They loved everything about their new house except their next-door neighbors who were rude to them. Julia tried to mingle with them, as there was no other neighbor just in case there was an emergency but her efforts went down the drain. The couple that lived next door had a small kid who was eight years old. Sometimes he would play football in the corridor and look at his new neighbors. Jack did not want to intrude the privacy of his next-door neighbors but he wanted to make sure his wife has someone to take care of her when he was away. His wife was nine months pregnant and Jack\u2019s job did not give him the luxury to be with his wife all the time. Sometimes the decisions you take bounce back. The couple had got married against their family\u2019s wish and now they had no one to help them.<\/p>\n

\"young<\/a>Many times, he controlled the urge to knock on their door and request them to keep an eye in case his wife needed some help. One day he saw the little kid playing outside. He went a step close and said, \u201cWhat\u2019s your name?\u201d<\/p>

\u201cI am Albert,\u201d the boy replied at once.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere is your dad? I wonder if I could talk to him for a minute,\u201d Jack asked in a mild tone.<\/p>\n

The boy was amazed, as he could not take his eyes of Jack\u2019s curly long hair. His own father was bald and he had a big tummy. Jack had always been very particular about his health. His muscular physique always gave him an advantage. He had got promoted as a security chief just a day before the couple got shifted to their house. They thought they would celebrate it with their neighbors but no such luck.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy dad is inside. He is making dinner but he does not want to talk to you,\u201d the little boy answered.<\/p>\n

Jack could hardly make sense as the boy was stammering a little bit. As soon as he understood what the kid had just told him he said, \u201cWhat makes you say that, Albert? You didn\u2019t even ask him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI know it. The other day when you knocked on the door, he asked me to tell you that he was not home. He is shy and he hates people who are tall like you. He says you make him look short,\u201d Albert said and ran away.<\/p>\n

Jack did not have the nerve to knock the door again as he knew it would not serve the purpose. \u201cDomestic help would be a great idea,\u201d he said to himself.<\/p>\n

Next day, Jack left early morning as he had a meeting with a new client. Sometimes he wondered why actors who seem quite healthy and fit to protect themselves need security guards.<\/p>\n

Finally, Jack managed to get domestic help who was supposed to come from next day. When he came back in the evening, he did not find Julia there. He wanted to ask the next-door neighbors but they were not home.<\/p>\n

He waited for another half an hour. He did not know what to do until he saw the short man with a big tummy walking towards him. His next-door neighbor looked extremely happy. He was talking to himself. Jack at once ran towards him but before he could ask anything his neighbor said, \u201cCongratulations Jack, your wife has given birth to a beautiful girl. You must go and have a look at her. She is an angel.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jack could hardly pull himself together and say thanks when he saw his neighbor getting inside his house.<\/p>\n

When Jack went to meet Julia, she told him that their neighbors took her to the hospital and were extremely happy to welcome their newborn. Jack could not thank them enough. He had tears in his eyes when he heard Albert\u2019s voice who said, \u201cWould you let me play with her?\u201d<\/p>\n

Sometimes we really misunderstand people around us. It is not necessary that those who do not mingle with others are bad or are not helpful people.<\/p>\n
