The island consists of a white sand beach called as Bounty Beach and is famous for its coral gardens and dive spots. It also features an underwater plateau known as Monad Shoal, where manta rays and thresher sharks can be spotted. Monad Shoal is the number one diving spot on the Malapascua Island that is considered as the natural cleaning station for fish. The settlements on the islands survive mostly on fishing and farming. \u00a0Marine life features species of fish like mandarin fish, frogfish, and pygmy seashore. The locals call the island as Lagon. The island is reachable by bus, boat, and ferry.
